Cache Valley Disc Golf Courses

Disc golf is growing in Cache Valley!

If you’re looking for a place to play, we have several neighborhood and tournament disc golf courses.

Neighborhood Courses

Small, 6-9 hole neighborhood courses can be found in Nibley, Hyrum,  Amalga, Smithfield, North Logan, and Providence. These are great courses for learning disc golf and working on your game.

Amalga Sugar Park – The Sugar Park Disc Golf course is a six hole course that plays through a small park in Amalga.  This course plays near/over playgrounds, baseball, and soccer fields. Fortunately, this park is rarely used, so you are usually able to play your full round of disc golf in Amalga.

Bandit’s Cove – This gem of a course was installed in 2023, and has been getting better every year. It is a wooded course with a beautiful river on the property. The water comes into play on several holes. It is easily the best course in the valley! Bandit’s is currently a 16-hole course, but the city of Hyrum is planning on installing a bridge across the river to give us access to the last two holes.

Blacksmith Fork Park – This park course has 10 holes, with a practice basket to get warmed up. It is mostly flat, with a big hill coming into play on a few holes. The park is new, so the trees aren’t very big yet. It has a couple longer holes for more experienced players to stretch out their arms.

Hyrum Salt Hollow Park – Salt Hollow is a nice park in Hyrum with a large playground area, water feature and Splash Pad. The holes for this course are VERY short, but the park has lots of hilly terrain that allows for some elevation changes. This is a great course for beginners or practicing your short game.

Nibley Sunrise Meadows Park – Sunrise Meadows is a mostly wide open short disc golf course that plays through retention ponds. This park does not have many mature trees so can get very hot.

North Logan Elk Ridge Park – The Elk Ridge Park disc golf course has 9 holes and plays around baseball and soccer fields. Because of the business of the park, you may not be able to play all the holes in afternoon and evening hours.

Providence Von Baer Park – This is a favorite local course where many of us learned to play disc golf. While most of the holes are short, this is a very challenging course that will easily frustrate beginners. The Blind Gulley Disc golf course has two baskets and two tee pads per hole. That allows you to play 36 unique holes!

Ridgeline High School – Ridgeline High School in Millville has a fun nine hole disc golf course with some short holes, some long holes, and a couple ridiculously short holes. This course is great for beginners and is conveniently located on both Ridgeview High School grounds as well as Nibley City property.

Smithfield Heritage Park – The Heritage Park disc golf course in Smithfield has 4 holes (plus a practice basket) in Heritage Park and 5 holes in Forrester Acres park that play around the West Baseball field. This is a challenging nine hole course with technical lines and lots of OB.

Expired Courses

Sherwood Hills Golf Course — Unfortunately, the owners of Sherwood Hills decided not to open the golf course this year, which also means that the disc golf course is also not accessible to the public. The golf course and hotel are currently for sale. We’re hoping a new owner will buy the property soon that will want to embrace disc golf. If that happens, Sherwood Hills is a world class course with serious tournament potential. The course is very long with a variety of wooded and open shots. It includes par 3, 4, and 5 holes.

Logan Fairgrounds – Unfortunately, disc golf at the Cache County Fairgrounds was so successful, it made it difficult for the maintenance crew to get their work done with all the disc golfers throwing discs around. With the construction of the new building they decided to reduce the Fairgrounds course from 21 permanent holes to 9 temporary holes, that were only open during the winter from October – March. Eventually, the fairgrounds manager pulled the course for good, citing damages, wear, and congestion in a mixed-use area as reasons for closing the course.

USU Course – For a few years there was a 9-hole course on the campus of Utah State University. The course played around several dorm buildings and near several parking lots. It was a fun little course. Because of its location, buildings and cars were getting hit, and the course eventually got pulled.

In Progress Course!

Logan City is planning on installing a 27-hole course near the current landfill (only a few blocks away from Infinite!). The tee pads were supposed to be installed in 2025, but it is looking like they won’t go in until 2026.
