About CVDG

Cache Valley Disc Golf (CVDG) is a passionate community of disc golfers based in northern Utah, dedicated to growing the sport and fostering inclusive, year-round play for all skill levels.

Founded in 2011 by Brandon “Mook” Merzlock, the club began as the High Desert Disc Golf Alliance—a name that reflected the arid landscapes we often traveled to play in. But by 2012, it was clear that “High Desert” didn’t resonate with the lush mountain valley we call home. So, we embraced our true identity and became Cache Valley Disc Golf.

What We Do

CVDG runs weekly leagues, seasonal events, and collaborates with local parks and rec departments to promote and maintain disc golf throughout the region. We believe that a strong disc golf community starts with showing up, welcoming newcomers, and building courses that challenge and inspire.

Our Course Contributions

Since our founding, we’ve proudly helped install and support several of the region’s most beloved disc golf courses, including:

  • Von Baer Park 350 E Center St, Providence
  • Cache County Fairgrounds (Logan) — now retired, but not forgotten
  • Blacksmith Fork Park 176 S 1300 E, Hyrum
  • Beaver Mountain (Logan Canyon)
  • Nibley Sunrise Meadows 2500 S 1200 W, Nibley
  • Smithfield Heritage Park 300 W Center St, Smithfield
  • Bandit’s Cove Blacksmith Fork Canyon, Hyrum
  • Salt Hollow 350 N 100 W, Hyrum

Each of these courses reflects the hard work, community support, and love for the sport that defines CVDG.
